Division of Gaming Control
The Division of Gaming Control has the responsibility to ensure comprehensive safeguards for control of gaming in the City of San Jose. The safeguards are in place in order to protect the public interest in San Jose. This is accomplished through background investigations on cardroom employees, investigating violations related to the cardrooms, conducting statistical and background analysis of any type of criminal activity related to cardrooms, performing audits to assure compliance, investigating violations of Title 16 of the Municipal Code, hearing and deciding Regulatory Action matters on cardroom permittees and licensees.
Police officers assigned to the Division of Gaming Control will continue to work with Vice Unit personnel while conducting criminal investigations.
