Definition of a Missing Person

A missing person includes, but is not limited to, any of the following:

A minor (person less than 18 years of age) who is missing voluntarily or involuntarily

An adult who

If you have any questions concerning a missing person, please contact your local police station, or call the Missing Persons Unit at 408-277-4786.

Please note: According to California Department of Justice guidelines, the investigating agency is normally the agency in which the missing person lives. If the missing person does not reside within the City of San Jose, a courtesy Missing Persons Report will be completed and then distributed to the concerned law enforcement agency where the missing person lives and was last seen.
