Message from the Chief
Welcome to the newly redesigned San Jose Police Department Web Site! It is our hope that the new features provided on this site will allow us to serve you better. We are especially hopeful that the Calls for Service information we are providing for your individual neighborhood will help you to help us as we strive to work together to reduce crime in San Jose. You will also notice that we will be providing regular updates of the latest law enforcement news and information on this web site, with an eye to helping you become knowledgeable about what is occurring in our neighborhoods. We will do this as a way for you to help us find wanted criminals and solve crimes, as well as helping you know how you may become an active participant in our community policing strategies. I am also committed to providing a monthly message from me to you, with the goal being to keep you informed of what our plans are here in the police department.
I would also like to share with you the fact that even though our local community and California may be going through some tough economic times, we at the San Jose Police Department are committed to ensuring that we provide you with the best police services possible. Indeed, we recognize that we have become the Safest Big City in America because of the collaborative, trusting relationship we have established with the many diverse communities and cultures that make up this great city of ours. As such, please let me know if there is ever anything I can do to ensure we have done everything possible to provide you with great service.
