Details:

Officers worked a Crime Suppression Detail and focused on the Downtown Business District Officers detained two transients loitering about businesses on N. 1st Street. One of the subjects was arrested for parole violation and violation of a domestic violence restraining order. The other subject was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.

From 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, four officers and one sergeant proactively patrolled problem areas in the Southern Division. The focus was on quality of life related crimes. This resulted in a total of 5 criminal citations, 7 field interviews.

Burglary Suppression Detail

Details:

One sergeant and four officers conducted burglary suppression probation sweeps within Southern Division between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  The sweeps generated two arrests and several grams of methamphetamine. One suspect, a known burglar with prison gang ties, was arrested for violation of probation after officers discovered fake urine in his possession that he used for his urine test at the probation department this morning. Another suspect at a probation search was found to be under the influence of narcotics and in possession of the methamphetamine.

Details:

Officers responded to an armed robbery that occurred at a coffee shop. Three suspects entered the business and one was armed with a handgun. The suspects proceeded to empty out the cash register and they also took a female victims purse. The three suspects fled in a vehicle.

On the above date and time, unknown suspects entered the above business armed with firearms, demanding property from the clerk. The suspects fled with the merchandise and have not been located. The clerk was not injured. The Robbery Unit responded to the scene.

Possession of Firearm near school

While working a Central Division Supression assignment, officers conducted a vehicle stop adjacent to San Jose High School. The investigation resulted in the arrest of three suspects for possession of a loaded handgun within a gun-free school zone, possession of a controlled substance and minor in possession of ammunition. Several hundred rounds of ammunition were recovered from the vehicle.

Central Division Suppression Car officers conducted two separate pedestrian stops in District King on gang members with outstanding warrants. The first subject was stopped on Calhoun who had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. A second gang member was stopped at Julian/18th Street who was a parolee at large.
