Yesenia Ramirez, an Enlace Program Specialist at Evergreen Valley College wrote the following thank you for Lt. Tony Mata:

I am writing this letter to express my sincere appreciation to Lt. Anthony Mata for his community involvement with Latino students at Evergreen Valley College.  He recently became one of the newest mentor to the Enlace Program.  In the Fall, 2011 semester, Lt. Mata mentored two of our Enlace students who were interested in a career in the field of administration of justice.  As a result of their meetings, the students said, they had a better understanding of the career and, more importantly, appreciated the opportunity to meet with someone from the San Jose Police Department.

We truly appreciate Lt. Mata's dedication and willingness to volunteer as an Enlace Mentor.  For us, it validates his commitment to his community.  It is through the efforts of people like Lt. Mata that our program continues to fulfill its mission to increase the eduactional success of Latino Students.
