On Thursday, August 23, 2012, at approximately 10:51 p.m., San Jose police responded to S. King Road and Burdette Drive on reports of a person who had been shot.  Officers located a male adult victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 18-year-old San Jose resident Armondo Miguel Heredia, was taken to Regional Medical Center, in San Jose, where he was pronounced dead. The unidentified suspect(s) fled prior to the arrival of officers and remain at large.
Preliminary investigation revealed this homicide to be gang-motived.  However, the circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation and no arrests have been made in this case.
This marks the city's 33rd homicide of the year.
