SJPD Needs Public's Assistance to Locate Suspect Involved in City's 15th Homicide

Suspect: Julio Pliego

San Jose: The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect involved in the City's 15th Homicide of 2013. At approximately 1:23 PM, SJPD Communications received a report that an employee at the Holiday Inn Express Motel located in the 2600 block of Monterey Road found a deceased female inside one of the rooms. Upon arrival, officers located the deceased female who was brutally murdered. The SJPD Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
The victim was later identified as 35 year old San Jose resident Veronica Lozano. In addition, SJPD Homicide detectives identified 43 year old San Jose resident Julio Pliego as the person responsible for the homicide.
The suspect Pliego is associated with the following vehicle:

1. 1997 Nissan van bearing a California license plate of 6ZQD210.

The victim Lozano has White 1996 Chevrolet Suburban bearing a California license plate of 3RWR194 that has not been located.
Homicide detectives believe suspect Pliego may have fled to Mexico.
The suspect Julio Pliego should be considered armed and dangerous.
Persons with information regarding the whereabouts of suspect Pliego or the associated vehicles are urged to dial "911" or contact Detective Sergeant Newton or Detective Vallejo of the San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit at (408) 277-5283. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may either call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line, (408) 947-STOP (7867), or click the "Submit a Tip" link below. Persons providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect may be eligible for a cash reward from the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers.
