The San Jose Police Department is investigating the City's 25th Homicide of 2013. On 6/19/2013, at approximately 6:06 P.M., the San Jose Police Department's 9-1-1 Communications Center received a report of a male who had been shot on the 1600 block of Virginia Avenue in East San Jose. Upon arrival, officers located a male who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and treated for life threatening injuries.  On 6/20/2013 the victim, later identified as 16 year old Manuel Urzoua, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  The unidentified suspect(s) have not been located and remain at large.

San Jose Police Homicide Detectives determined the murder was gang-related.
