San Jose: On Thursday, 2-19-09 at 1:47 PM, San Jose Police Department's Child Exploitation Detail was notified of an Unlawful Sexual Intercourse w/ a Minor that occurred in San Jose, CA. Investigators received a report that a 14 year old victim was sexually assaulted by an adult male whom she had met on an Internet social networking site called Tagged.com.
San Jose Police Department's Child Exploitation Detail conducted a thorough investigation. Detectives learned that the suspect was currently teaching math at Gilroy High School in Gilroy. CA. During the investigation it was determined that the suspect had sexual encounters with the victim. The victim did not attend Gilroy High School. The suspect provided tutoring services to students on and off campus. The suspect had over one hundred "female" friends on this Internet social networking site, all between the ages of 13 and 17 years old.
The suspect was taken into custody today (2/25/09) and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for various sex offenses with a minor.
