San Jose: On Thursday, May 18, 2017, at about 10:08 PM, San Jose Police Officers working patrol in the area of So. 1st St. and Edwards Ave. heard gunshots. The officers located victim George Garza suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation. No suspects have been identified or apprehended. 

This is the City's 12th homicide of 2017.
