In recognition of Crime Prevention Month the San Jose Police Department will be presenting its Celebrate Safe Communities Awards. Crime Prevention Month and these awards are designed to spotlight San Jose's crime prevention efforts, enhance public awareness of vital crime prevention and safety messages, and recruit year-round support for ongoing prevention activities that help keep neighborhoods safe from crime. Crime Prevention is a partnership and this year's recipients have all demonstrated outstanding support for Crime Prevention efforts in San Jose. Awards are annually presented to a community member, community group and representatives of the police department who have shown outstanding work in the area of community service and crime prevention.
