Annoy/Child Molest and False Imprisonment

On Friday, June 26, 2009, Modesto Police Department took and initial report involving a local Modesto gymnastics coach inappropriately touching a 17 year old female gymnast while at a gymnastics competition in San Jose.
 
The San Jose Police Department's Child Exploitation Detail/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was forwarded the case for follow up investigation from the Modesto Police Department.
 
On Wednesday, June 24, 2009, the victim was in San Jose attending a gymnastics competition.
While at their team hotel, Gilham took advantage of the victim.  Gilham followed the victim into her hotel room, prevented her from leaving, and subsequently annoyed and molested her.  The victim eventually convinced Gilham to stop.  Over the last year, similar incidents with the victim have been occurring at Gilham's gym in Modesto.
 
During the investigation, it was discovered there may be additional victims living in the Modesto area.  The Modesto Police Department was notified of these victims and this case was sent to them for review.
 
The Santa Clara County District's Attorney's office filed charges of annoying/molesting a child and false imprisonment.  Gilham was taken into custody on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 by Modesto Police Department.
