San Jose:
In May 2009, San Jose Police Burglary Investigators notes a series of night time commercial burglaries, in which the victims were small retail businesses.  The suspects would gain entry into these businesses by using a river rock or other tool to shatter the front window of the businesses in order to steal cash registers or register drawers.  The department's Crime Analysis Unit identified approximately 100 cases in the string of burglaries.

As the investigation progressed, further information was developed by another investigative unit at San Jose Police Department investigating other crimes.  Throughout the investigation, Burglary Unit Investigators were able to get bits of information and both identities of both female suspects in September.

A three week covert surveillance was conducted on both of the subjects that involved members of the Department"s Burglary/Financial Crimes Unit, Narcotics Covert Investigations, Vice Investigations, Assaults Unit and Bureau of Field Operations-Special Operations personnel.  During the early morning hours of October 12, 2009, the suspects committed another burglary.  The two suspects (one male, one female) were being pursued by officers and taken into custody.  On October 15, 2009, armed with arrest warrants, Burglary Investigators arrested the second female suspect at the Sunnyvale Branch Court House where she was appearing on a prior Burglary arrest.

Anyone with information is urged to call the San Jose Police Departments Burglary Unit at (408)277-4401.  Persons wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at (408)947-STOP (7867).
