The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating two suspects involved in a purse snatch robbery. On February 6, 2013 at approximately 6:52 P.M., a purse snatch robbery occurred in the 500 block of Race St. The victim and the two suspects were riding on the Light Rail train and got off at the Race Street Station. The victim continued off the platform and onto the sidewalk. The female suspect (Suspect #1) confronted the victim while she was walking on the sidewalk. The female suspect punched and kicked the victim until she fell to the ground. The female suspect then tried to rip the victim's purse from her grasp. The male suspect (Suspect #2) then assisted the female suspect in ripping the victim's purse away. Both suspects fled the scene on their bicycles with the victim's purse and have not been located.
The female suspect (Suspect #1) is described as a Hispanic female in her early twenties, about 5-6, and weighing about 190 pounds. She has long dark wavy hair and was last seen riding a bicycle with beach cruiser style handlebars.
The male suspect (Suspect #2) is described as a White or Hispanic male in his early twenties, about 5-7, and weighing approximately 170 pounds. The male suspect was last seen riding a 10-speed bicycle with curved handlebars.
