SJPD Is Investigating the City's 41st Homicide of 2013

The San Jose Police Department is investigating the City's 41st homicide of 2013. On Friday, November 15, 2013 at approximately 7:32 P.M., the San Jose Police Department's 9-1-1 Communications Center received a report of a person shot in the 1600 block of West San Carlos Street in San Jose. Upon arrival, patrol officers located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as Pedro Meza Hernandez, was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 8:55 P.M.

The circumstances surrounding the murder are under investigation. Preliminary indications into the murder revealed that it was gang related. The San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. No suspects have been identified or apprehended.
