SJPD has arrested a teacher for Sexual Intercourse w/ a Minor & Lewd Acts w/ a Minor

Suspect: Zachary Drew
San Jose, Calif. -The San Jose Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)/Child Exploit Detail (CED) task force arrested 29 year old San Jose resident Zachary Drew for 3 counts of Penal Code 261.5(c)  Sexual Intercourse w/ a Minor &  3 counts of Penal Code 288a(b)(1) Lewd and Lascivious Acts w/ a Minor (Felonies).
The suspect, who is a teacher at Summit Tahoma Charter School, had a sexual relationship with a 17 year old student enrolled at Summit Tahoma.  The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

Preliminary investigation revealed that on February 17, 2016, a concerned parent contacted San Jose Police about a rumor involving a 17 year-old student who had a sexual relationship with a teacher at Summit Tahoma Charter School sometime in 2015. 

Detectives conducted follow up investigation and discovered the school had already identified the alleged suspect and victim and concluded their internal investigation. Detectives interviewed the involved parties and determined that the above listed crimes were alleged to have been committed by suspect Drew.  

San Jose Police Department's ICAC/CED Unit presented their findings to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office and an arrest warrant was issued. On February 24, 2016 the suspect self-surrendered at the Santa Clara County Main Jail where he was booked.
