SJPD Arrest Suspect Involved in a Series of Robberies

San Jose:  The San Jose Police Department’s Robbery Unit has identified and arrested a suspect in a connection with a series of robberies of banks, check cashing stores, and pharmacies.  The crimes occurred between December 19, 2016 and January 10, 2017. The suspect entered each of the businesses and presented a demand note before taking money, or narcotics.

Sergeant Jaime Jimenez of the Robbery Unit stated that Robbery Detectives had worked tirelessly throughout the investigation of the robberies, which included interviewing victims and witnesses, gathering physical evidence, and conducting surveillance.  Robbery Detectives provided safety tips in an effort to educate the victim businesses.

Robbery Detectives identified Rainbow as the suspect responsible for the crime spree.  On January 11, 2017 members of the Covert Response Unit located and arrested the 45 year old Robert Rainbow at a residence in San Jose.
