WHAT: Backpack Distribution and Community Policing-Fostering a positive experience for children and families from the Santee Neighborhood in San Jose.
     
  WHO: Shop with a Cop Foundation of Silicon Valley, San Jose Police Department, Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, California Highway Patrol, San Jose-Evergreen Community College District Police Department, elected officials, corporate leaders, and community volunteers will distribute backpacks and school supplies to over 400 elementary school students.                  
     
WHEN: Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM
WHERE: Santee Elementary School, 1313 Audubon Drive, San Jose, CA

 

San Jose, CA — On Saturday, August 11th, the Shop with a Cop Foundation of Silicon Valley along with local law enforcement, elected officials, corporate leaders, and community volunteers will be at Santee Elementary School in San Jose distributing backpacks and school supplies to over 400 pre-selected elementary school students. The Shop with a Cop Foundation of Silicon Valley mission is to foster better relations between the police and the community.  "We are pleased to participate in providing these students with the items they need to start the school year off right.  Our local police officers want to help.  We need to show police officers in a positive light.  Shop with a Cop Foundation of Silicon Valley is about calming fears and rebuilding trust in the community"  Darrell Cortez Founder and Executive Director
