SJPD Arrests Suspect for Sexual Assault

San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose Police Department’s Sexual Assault Investigations Unit arrested Oscar Leonidas Escobar-Altamiran for Assault with Intent to Commit a Sex Crime (felony) – Penal Code 220 and Forcible Acts of Sexual Penetration (felony) – Penal Code 289(a)(1)(2).  The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for the above listed charges. 

On September 19, 2018, at approximately 10:41 AM, San Jose police officers responded to a call of a sexual battery on Mossdale Way at Jackson Avenue in San Jose. The female victim reported that an unknown male adult sexually assaulted her as she was walking her dog. The victim fought off her assailant and he fled the area in a silver Toyota 4Runner.  

Detectives conducted follow-up investigation and identified the suspect as Oscar Leonidas Escobar-Altamiran.  On September 20, 2018, patrol officer Michael Clark located the suspect driving the above listed vehicle in the area of Story Road near White Road in San Jose.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into Santa Clara County Jail for the listed charges.
