DETAILS:  The 11th Annual Shop with a Cop "Heroes and Helpers Holiday Shopping Spree" for underserved youth will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.  The day will begin with a community breakfast at Locatelli Center on the Santa Clara University campus, followed by a convoy to the Target store on Coleman Avenue in San Jose. The convoy's estimated arrival time at Target is approximately 9:30 AM.

For the past 11 years, the Shop with a Cop Foundation Silicon Valley has hosted over 160 underserved children for a holiday shopping spree with local Bay Area police officers. For many of the children, this special opportunity becomes the only holiday experience they will have.

This program is conducted in cooperation with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies nationwide. With a uniformed police officer by their side during the shopping spree, each child will receive a $150.00 Target gift card to shop for gifts for themselves or their family. The goal is to humanize the people behind the badge so that children can grow up trusting the police.

Funding for Shop with a Cop was provided by a grant from Target Corporation, Google, Intero Foundation, Rotary Foundation Silicon Valley, Brandenburg Family Foundation, local businesses, fundraisers and private donations.

People wishing to make a donation so more children may participate, can mail them to: P.O. Box 8003, San Jose, CA 95155 Checks made payable to Shop with a Cop Foundation SV or at www.shopwithacopsv.org via PayPal.
