SJPD Needs Help Identifying Suspect & Vehicle Involved In Fatal Hit & Run

San Jose, Calif. -The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating the felony hit & run suspect vehicle shown in the photo and linked video.

On Thursday, January 24, 2019, at about 12:35 AM, San Jose police officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision at N. 10th St. and E. Santa Clara St. in San Jose. The preliminary investigation revealed the adult female victim was walking in the crosswalk, eastbound E. Santa Clara St., when she was struck by a white van travelling southbound N. 10th St. The van fled the scene without stopping and the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin. This is the City’s 4th fatal collision/victim and 3rd vehicle vs pedestrian fatal collision of 2019.

Suspect Description: Unknown

Suspect Vehicle Description: White, full size, GMC or Chevy full size van, no markings, dark rims, right front end damage to hood and right headlight.
