SJPD Arrest Suspect for 5-6-18 Homicide

San Jose, Calif. - On Sunday, May 6, 2018, at about 12:10 AM, San Jose police officers responded to a person shot in the area of Story Road and Jackson Avenue in San Jose.  Arriving officers located victim Rufino Benitez suffering from at least one gunshot wound.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Follow up investigation by homicide detectives identified Uriel Cabrera as the person responsible for the murder of the victim.  On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, the suspect was arrested in Emeryville and booked into Santa Clara County Jail for murder.
