SJPD Arrests Suspect for Annoying or Molesting a Child Under 18

San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force / Child Exploitation Detail (CED) arrested suspect Junior Bitao for annoying or molesting a child under 18 years of age and touching a person intimately against their will for sexual arousal. Bitao worked as a teacher's aide at Sylvandale Middle School in San Jose.

On Thursday, May 30, 2019, Sylvandale Middle School staff contacted the San Jose Police Department to report the suspect’s involvement in the above listed crimes. The investigation revealed that between April 17, 2019 and May 1, 2019, Bitao committed the crimes.

On Thursday, June 6, 2019, detectives obtained a misdemeanor arrest warrant. Bitao was subsequently arrested at his San Jose residence by San Jose patrol officers.  Bitao was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on 2 counts of annoying or molesting a child under 18 years of age (misdemeanor) — 647.6(A)(1) PC and 2 counts of touching a person intimately against their will for sexual arousal (misdemeanor) — 243.4(e)(1) PC.
