SJPD Arrests 10 Suspects for Burglary, Conspiracy, Possession of Guns & Other Crimes

Operation "Kickstand" - Burglary Investigation


San Jose, Calif. - Since January 2019, a burglary crew has been responsible for dozens of commercial burglaries in the cities of San Jose, Cupertino, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Santa Cruz, Burlingame, Los Altos, Morgan Hill, Walnut Creek, Fremont, Pleasanton, Oakland, and Dublin. The crew focused on bike shops, construction sites and school districts.  

The San Jose Police Department's Burglary Prevention Unit conducted extensive follow up investigation and identified six members of the burglary crew and obtained arrest warrants for suspects, Joseph Pesti, Paul Neale, Rodney Arrieta, Lilia Mendoza, Carlos Lames, and Morgan Stevenson.    

On Thursday, August 29, 2019, the San Jose Burglary Prevention Unit, with the assistance of MERGE, Covert Response Unit (CRU), Street Crimes, Robbery Detectives, Patrol Officers, Community Service Officers, and outside law enforcement agencies, served a total of 4 search warrants in San Jose and 1 in Sunnyvale.  The six wanted suspects were arrested in San Jose and Sunnyvale and booked into Santa Clara County jail for various felony charges including commercial burglary, and conspiracy. 

One of the search warrants was served at a storage locker in Sunnyvale, three on recreational vehicles in San Jose, and an additional search warrant was served at a residence in the 1600 block of Willowgate Drive in San Jose where 4 additional suspects were taken into custody.  Ramiro Lozano and Andrea Reyes were arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance. John Tamez was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and Veronica Lozano was arrested for possession of stolen identification cards.   

A total of ten adults were arrested and subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Jail for multiple felony charges.  Scores of stolen driver's licenses, stolen credit cards, firearms, ammunition, drug paraphernalia and stolen property were recovered.
