San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose Police Department’s Sexual Assault Investigations Unit (SAIU) arrested Luis Cuevas Gomez for Sexual Assault, Kidnapping, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, False Imprisonment, Robbery, Criminal Threats, and Lewd and Lascivious Acts.

Between June 28, 2019 and August 29, 2019, detectives investigated three cases in which the suspect contacted sex workers in the area 1st Street and Keyes Street in San Jose. The suspect would pick the victims up in his vehicle, drive them to a nearby secluded parking lot where he physically assaulted and then sexual assault them.  In one case, the suspect brandished a firearm.    

Follow up investigation by SAIU detectives lead to the identification of suspect Gomez.  On Thursday, August 29, 2019, the San Jose Police Department's Covert Response Unit arrested the suspect without incident at his residence in Morgan Hill and subsequently booked him into Santa Clara County Jail for the above crimes.
