SJPD Arrests Suspect for 1-26-19 Homicide: S. 10th St. at E. William St. in San Jose

San Jose, Calif.  On Saturday, January 26, 2019, at about 1:59 AM, San Jose police officers responded to a person shot at S. 10th St. and E. William St. in San Jose. Arriving officers located victim Ayala suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Follow-up investigation by homicide detectives led to the identification of suspect Miguel Munoz-Huerta. On October 29, 2019, Mexican authorities arrested suspect Munoz-Huerta in Mexico. On October 31, 2019, Mexican authorities flew Munoz-Huerta to San Francisco International Airport and turned him over to the US Marshals Service. San Jose homicide detectives took custody of Munoz-Huerta from the US Marshals Service. Munoz-Huerta was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for murder.
