San Jose, Calif. - On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at about 6:50 PM, an armed robbery occurred at the Valero gas station located at 795 N. 13th St. in San Jose. The suspect entered the store, went behind the counter, stole lottery tickets, and got into a vehicle parked out front. An employee ran up to the suspect's vehicle and the suspect brandished a firearm. The employee backed away and the suspect fled the scene in a white pickup truck.

On Friday, November 1, 2019, at about 6:50 AM, a carjacking occurred in the 600 block of Rebecca Way in San Jose. The adult male victim was seated in the driver's seat warming up his white minivan. The suspect approached on foot and demanded the victim exit the minivan. The victim complied and the suspect drove off in the minivan containing miscellaneous clothes, including San Jose Police Department uniform shirts and pants.

On Saturday, November 2, 2019, at about 12:44 AM, San Jose police officers located the stolen minivan parked in the area of Landess Ave. and Morrill Ave. in San Jose. Several uniforms were located in the minivan. Follow-up investigation by robbery detectives led to the identification of Alvaradosanchez as the suspect who robbed the Valero gas station and carjacked the white minivan. Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Alvaradosanchez.

On Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at about 3:45 PM, detectives from the Santa Clara County Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATTF) were surveilling a stolen black pickup truck. The truck collided with another vehicle on Foothill Expressway near Magdalena Ave. in the City of Los Altos. The driver, later identified as Jesus Alvaradosanchez, and passenger, later identified as Linda Bruno, a 29 year-old San Jose resident, fled on foot. They were both subsequently apprehended in the area by RATTF detectives. Both suspects were turned over to San Jose Police robbery detectives.

Detectives obtained search warrants for a residence and storage facility in San Jose, and a motel room in the City of Santa Cruz. A majority of the stolen uniforms, plus civilian clothing were recovered during the search.

Linda Bruno was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Suspect Alvaradosanchez was admitted to the hospital for injuries sustained in the collision. Once Alvaradosanchez is medically cleared, he will be booked into Santa Clara County Jail for multiple charges, including robbery and carjacking.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, RATTF detectives returned to the scene in the morning to recanvass the area for evidence. Detectives located a discarded firearm.
