San Jose PD Arrests Suspect for Two Indecent Exposure Incidents

San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose Police Department's Sexual Assault Investigations Unit arrested suspect Jesus Alberto Chavarria for Indecent Exposure.

On Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at about 5:22 PM, San Jose police officers investigated an indecent exposure incident on Wright Place and Gaspar Vista in San Jose. The 22 year-old female victim was sitting in her vehicle when Chavarria knocked on the vehicle's window and attempted to open the door. Chavarria dropped his sweat pants and exposed his genitals after he could not open the door. He fled on foot toward Los Gatos Creek Trail. Arriving officers located Chavarria in the area, took him into custody, and booked him into Santa Clara County Jail for indecent exposure. Chavarria was eventually released from jail. 

Detectives conducted follow-up investigation and determined Chavarria was responsible for an indecent exposure that occurred on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at about 9:45 AM, on Bautista Place and Font Terrace in San Jose. The 43 year-old female victim was walking her dog when Chavarria approached on foot, dropped his pants and exposed his genitals. Chavarria fled on foot toward Los Gatos Creek Trail and was not identified or apprehended.

On Friday, April 17, 2020, detectives arrested Chavarria in San Jose on a warrant for the March 21st indecent exposure and probation violation. He was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Jail.
