This seminar is specifically designed for law enforcement officers, prosecutors, victim / witness advocates, and others who desire to effectively train others about the phenomenon of Human Trafficking (HT).  This seminar will provide the tools for Law Enforcement (LE) agencies to comply with AB 22.

The seminar will consist of a morning General Assembly, Lunch, and Afternoon Breakout Sessions.  Participants may select one of the following afternoon sessions to attend, depending upon their area of interest.

LAW ENFORCEMENT & PROSECUTORS:  This group will focus on AB 22 and the training LE officers and prosecutors need to initiate and complete HT investigations.  (AB 22 states that all law enforcement officers will receive training in the area of Human Trafficking.)

VICTIM ASSISTANCE:  Those who offer assistance, such as care, housing or advocacy for HT victims, and will train others to do so, should attend this session.

PUBLIC OUTREACH:  This is for anyone (law enforcement, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), educators, private sector) who will be making public presentations regarding Human Trafficking.

The San Jose Police Department Human Trafficking Task Force is funded in part by a grant from U. S. DOJ/BJA.  Task Force members include: San Jose Police Department, Santa Clara County District Attorneys Office, South Bay Coalition to End Human Trafficking, U.S. Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
