Changeable Message Sign Trailer & Informational Radar Trailer
The San Jose Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit has a changeable message sign trailer (CMS) that is available to the public. This programmable, portable message board is placed in strategic locations to notify motorists of upcoming events, specific parking instructions, changes in the roadway, construction, etc.
There are also informational radar trailers available for public use. These trailers display a motorist’s speed as they approach. The radar trailers are an effective educational and public relations tool for neighborhoods. Although these trailers are not used for enforcement, nor do they record data, they are effective in making residential streets safer by impacting driver behaviors through temporary speed reductions.

If you have a traffic complaint that you need addressed, you may want to complete and submit a Traffic Complaint Form. The city of San Jose’s Department of Transportation also has Traffic Calming programs that may address your traffic concerns. Here is a link to their website.
