SJPD Arrests Suspect for 2023 Homicide #12

On May 29, 2023, at approximately 9:48 PM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the area of Willow Street and Lelong Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they located an adult female suffering from at least one gun shot wound. The female victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were determined to be non life-threatening. During the course of the investigation, Officers located an additional adult male victim at a nearby encampment. The male victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

SJPD Homicide Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and identified the suspect as Pablo Davila-Martinez. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect.

On August 13, 2024, the SJPD Covert Response Unit located and arrested suspect Davila-Martinez and booked him into Santa Clara County Main Jail for murder.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

This was the City's 12th homicide of 2023.
