On October 1, 2024, at approximately 3:30 PM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the 1400 block of St. Francis Drive for a report of a solo vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2012 white Ford Edge, occupied by an adult female driver, was traveling south bound on St. Francis Drive. The vehicle veered out of its lane and collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle before colliding with a tree.
The driver was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries that were believed to be non-life threatening.
On October 5, 2024, the adult female driver succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 42nd fatal collision and 42nd traffic death of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
