SJPD is Seeking Public's Assistance Identifying the Suspect in Hit and Run Injury Collision

On October 12, 2024, at approximately 1:20 AM, patrol Officers responded to the intersection of South 4th Street and East San Carlos Street for a report of a hit and run vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

The suspect vehicle drove southbound on South 4th Street when it struck an adult female pedestrian crossing the street at the intersection of East San Carlos Street. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene and continued southbound on South 4th Street toward southbound I-280. 

The female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with major injuries that were later determined to be non-life threatening.

SJPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the unknow suspect vehicle captured on surveillance video above. The vehicle was described as a dark colored sedan. The suspect driver is still outstanding. 

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the outstanding suspect and vehicle or any information about this case, is urged to contact Detective Bowen #4461 of the San José Police Department's Traffic Investigations Unit via email: 4461@sanjoseca.gov or 408-277-4654.
