On October 21, 2024, at approximately 11:58 PM, Patrol Officers responded to a report of a person down in the 1000 Block of Saratoga Avenue. Upon arrival, Officers discovered an adult male victim who was not conscious and not breathing. Despite life saving efforts by medical personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
The preliminary investigation indicated the victim had been robbed by four suspects. During the robbery, the suspects physically assaulted the victim and shot him at least once.
The San José Police Department Homicide Unit responded to the scene and began a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
During the course of the investigation, Detectives, with assistance of Patrol Officers, identified three adults and one juvenile as the primary suspects responsible for the incident. All of the involved suspects were arrested and booked for murder.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
This is the City's 25th homicide of 2024.
