On January 18, 2025, at approximately 1:33 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and strong armed robbery that occurred at a business parking lot located in the 3000 block of Story Road. The juvenile male victim and his mother were shopping when they were approached by five male suspects. The suspects violently assaulted the juvenile victim, causing him to lose consciousness. During the attack, the adult female victim attempted to intervene to protect her child and was assaulted as well. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. The preliminary investigation revealed that the attack was gang-motivated.
SJPD Gang Investigations Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and identified the three adult male suspects as Emiliano Jimenez, Tommy Gonzalez, and Mario Perez, and two juvenile male suspects. Detectives obtained arrests warrants for for all five suspects and search warrants for their associated residences.
On February 12, 2025, Suspect Perez and the two juvenile suspects were located and arrested in the city of San José. During the arrest and search warrant execution for the two juvenile suspects, SJPD located two illegal firearms. The juvenile suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for robbery, assault, and various firearm-related crimes.

On March 4, 2025, Suspects Jimenez and Gonzalez were located and arrested in the city of San José, and booked into Santa Clara County Jail for gang-motivated robbery and assault.
