On February 27, 2025, at approximately 4:50 PM, Officers responded to a report of a road rage incident that occurred in the area of N. Bascom Avenue at W. San Carlos Street. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was driving his vehicle and almost merged into the victim's vehicle. The victim honked their horn and the suspect drove along side the victim causing the victim's vehicle to go against oncoming traffic. During the incident, the suspect pointed a firearm at the victim.
On April 3, 2025, San José Police Department Assaults Unit Detectives investigated a report of a separate road rage incident that occurred on March 29, 2025, in the area of N. 1st Street at E. Brokaw Road. The suspect backed his vehicle into the victim's vehicle and then proceeded to hit the victim's vehicle head on.
During the course of these investigations, Detectives identified Suspect Steven Robles as the primary suspect for both incidents. Assaults Unit Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Suspect Steven Robles as well as a search warrant for his residence.
On April 15, 2025, Detectives, with the assistance of the Covert Response Unit (CRU), located and apprehended Suspect Robles in the city of San José. During the search of his residence, the suspect was found to be in possession of several firearms including one stolen firearm, large capacity magazines, and body armor.

The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and brandishing a firearm from a vehicle.
