On April 17, 2025, at approximately 2:34 AM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to an apartment in the 300 block of South Market Street for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they located an adult male victim suffering from at least one stab wound. Medical personnel responded to the scene and attempted life saving measures. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The SJPD Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is investigating the incident.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
This incident is being investigated as the City's 8th homicide of 2025.
