On June 5, 2025, at approximately 11:16 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a residence in the city of San José for a report of a family disturbance.

The adult female victim disclosed she was assaulted by an adult male suspect who lived with her. The suspect was later identified as San José Police Department Sergeant Gary Truong. Truong has been with the Department for 25 years and was off-duty at the time of the incident. The victim declined medical attention on scene.

Suspect Truong was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for domestic violence.

The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for review. Because this is now an internal administrative and criminal investigation, we cannot provide additional information.
