On June 11, 2025, at approximately 1:50 AM, San José Police Department Officers responded to the 800 Block of Tully Road for a report of a solo vehicle traffic collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2015 blue Toyota sedan, occupied by an adult male driver and two adult female passengers, was traveling eastbound on Tully Road approaching Galveston Avenue when it left the roadway and struck a tree near the south curb line of Tully Road.
The two female passengers were transported to a local hospital where one succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. The second passenger's injuries were determined to be non life-threatening. The adult male driver was treated on scene and taken into custody for vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
This is the 12th fatal collision and 12th traffic death of 2025.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
