On May 21, 2025, at approximately 3:00 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the 400 block of Saratoga Avenue. The juvenile male victim was attempting to sell two pairs of luxury shoes to two juvenile male suspects he met online. During the encounter, one of the suspects brandished a firearm at the victim and took the shoes without payment. While the two suspects fled in a vehicle, the suspect brandished the firearm again and fired at the victim. Fortunately, the victim was not injured during the incident.
SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and identified a 16 year old male and 17 year old male responsible for the armed robbery. Detectives obtained arrests warrants for both juvenile suspects and search warrants for their residences.
On June 19, 2025, both suspects were arrested in the city of San Jose and booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. During the execution of the search warrants, evidence of the crime, as well as a privately-made firearm, were located.
