On July 28, 2025, at approximately 3:08 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a solo vehicle collision in the area of Berryessa Road and Summerpark Court. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2001 black Ford truck, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling westbound on Berryessa Road at a high rate of speed when another vehicle changed lanes in front of the Ford truck. The Ford truck swerved out of the lane and veered into the center divide before colliding with a tree. No collision occurred between the two vehicles. The solo vehicle collision resulted in the Ford truck catching fire.
Fire personnel responded to the scene and extracted the driver. The driver was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 19th fatal collision and 19th traffic death of 2025.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
