On August 10, 2025, at approximately 10:13 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of South King Road and Aldrich Way in the city of San José. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2022 white Chevy truck, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling northbound on King Road approaching Aldrich Way, when it struck an adult male pedestrian who was crossing westbound on King Road outside of any marked crosswalk.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be a factor in the collision.

This is the 21st fatal collision and 21st traffic death of 2025. This is also the 11th pedestrian death of 2025.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.
