Stay Alert, Stay Safe: Using Online Marketplaces
Are you buying or selling online? Whether it's furniture, electronics, or clothing, online marketplaces can be convenient, but safety should always be a priority. Here are some quick tips to protect yourself:
1. Meet in Public Places
Always meet in well-lit, public areas like coffee shops or designated exchange zones. Avoid secluded spots or inviting strangers to your home.
2. Never Go Alone
Bring a friend or family member with you, especially when making high-value exchanges.
3. Trust Your Instincts
If something feels off, it probably is. Scammers often pressure you to act fast. Slow down and walk away if needed.
4. Keep Records
Take screenshots of the listing, messages, and payment receipts. This can help if anything goes wrong.
Your safety is worth more than a good deal.
Think twice. Stay safe.
