On October 31, 2025, at approximately 5:48 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to the 100 Block of North 24th Street for a report of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.
The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by an adult male, was traveling northbound on North 24th Street at a high rate of speed, when it collided with a 2016 Toyota pickup truck that was backing out of a driveway onto North 24th Street.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The adult male driver of the Toyota was not injured. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
This incident is the city's 32nd fatal collision and 33rd traffic death of 2025.
The identity of the decedent will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.
