The San José Police Department Gang Investigations Unit (GIU) conducted a large-scale operation into various gang-motivated crimes that occurred between September 2025 through November 2025 in the city of San José. These incidents included vandalism and firearm-related crimes.

GIU Detectives identified seven primary suspects responsible for the gang-motivated crimes: Luis Haro, two 16-year-old juvenile male suspects, Elijah Santos, a 14-year-old juvenile male suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile male suspect, and Angel Gonzalez. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for all seven suspects, and search warrants for their associated residences.

On November 19, 2025, GIU Detectives located and arrested Suspect Luis Haro and two 16-year-old juvenile male suspects in the city of San José. During the execution of the search warrant at Suspect Haro’s residence, Detectives located a loaded firearm, large quantities of narcotics, and two homemade improvised explosive devices. The SJPD Bomb Squad quickly responded and took custody of the explosive devices, later rendering them safe. During the execution of the search warrant at one of the juvenile suspect's residence, Detectives contacted an additional suspect, Alejandro Villa, who was in possession of illegal narcotics for sale. Suspect Villa was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for an outstanding warrant and for narcotics-related crimes. Suspect Haro was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail, and the two juvenile suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, all for various crimes, including vandalism and firearm-related crimes.

On December 3, 2025, GIU Detectives located and arrested Suspect Elijah Santos, Suspect Angel Gonzalez, and the 14-year-old and 17-year-old juvenile suspects in the city of San José. During the execution of the search warrants at both juvenile suspects' residences, Detectives located a stolen firearm at each location. While executing the search warrant for Suspect Gonzalez, GIU Detectives contacted an additional suspect, Humberto Aquino, who was on active parole with an outstanding warrant. Both Suspect Gonzalez and Suspect Aquino were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail, and the two juvenile suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
