On January 28, 2026, at approximately 1:00 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault of a minor that occurred at a residence in the city of San José. The mother of the child stated that the adult male suspect, who was a behavior technician providing in-home services, sexually assaulted her toddler at least once during the course of his employment after she reviewed home surveillance footage.
Detectives assigned to the SJPD Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)/Child Exploitation Detail (CED) Task Force immediately began an investigation and identified the suspect as Benjamin Amlicke. Suspect Amlicke was employed by the Center for Speech Language, Occupational and Behavior Therapy (CSLOT) based in the city of Fremont. CSLOT was notified and immediately cooperated with the investigation.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Suspect Amlicke and a search warrant for his residence.
On January 29, 2026, with the assistance of the SJPD Covert Response Unit, ICAC Detectives located and arrested Suspect Amlicke in the city of San Mateo. The suspect was transported and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for sexual assault of a minor.
Due to the suspect's position of trust and employment as an in-home behavior technician, ICAC Detectives believe there may be additional victims.
