SJPD Investigating Homicide #2 and #3 of 2026

On February 8, 2026, at approximately 2:20 AM, the San José Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Paseo de San Antonio in downtown San José . Several Patrol and Special Operations Officers working in the area arrived quickly and located two adult male victims suffering from at least one gunshot wound each. Medical personnel also arrived quickly, but despite their efforts at medical intervention, both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The SJPD Homicide Unit responded and is actively investigating the incident. Preliminary information has revealed this to be an isolated incident. 

The motive and circumstances surrounding the event are still under investigation.  

The identity of the victims will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.

This incident is being investigated as the City's 2nd and 3rd homicide of 2026.
