SJPD Arrests Suspect for Attempted Murder

On September 16, 2025, at approximately 9:30 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred at a business located in the 2300 block of McKee Road. The preliminary investigation revealed a male suspect produced a firearm inside the business before walking outside and shooting at an adult male victim who was still inside the business. The victim was fortunately unharmed. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

SJPD Assaults Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and identified Manuel Orozco-Calderon as the primary suspect. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Suspect Orozco-Calderon and search warrant for his associated residence.

On February 11, 2026, with the assistance of the SJPD Covert Response Unit, Detectives located Suspect Orozco-Calderon in the city of Modesto. Suspect Orozco-Calderon was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into an inhabited dwelling.
