On December 30, 2025, after conducting an extensive investigation into an illegal gambling operation, San José Police Department Patrol Officers executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 2700 block of Cramer Circle. During the operation, four suspects were taken into custody and arrested for outstanding warrants and various on-view crimes, including illegal gambling and narcotics. In addition, Officers located and seized multiple gambling machines and narcotics.
It was later discovered that the residence continued its operation as an illegal gambling business. On April 7, 2026, Patrol Officers executed a subsequent search warrant where multiple subjects were contacted and gambling machines were seized. To prevent the illicit business from returning, Patrol Officers continued their investigation to identify the primary suspect responsible. Officers identified 26-year-old Deon Nguyen as the suspect behind the illicit business, and obtained a warrant for his arrest and a search warrant for his associated residence.
On April 30, 2026, with the assistance of the SJPD MERGE Unit, Patrol Officers located and arrested Suspect Nguyen in the city of San José. During the execution of the search warrant, Officers located the following:
