On April 21, 2026, at approximately 11:33 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that occurred at a business located in the 4200 block of Senter Road. Two male suspects entered the business, brandished firearms at the victim employee, and demanded money. The victim feared for his life and gave the suspects cash from a register. The suspects also forcibly took a second register. Both suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and identified Jose Sanchez-Gonzalez and Javier Larios as the primary suspects. During the investigation, Detectives discovered Suspects Sanchez-Gonzalez and Larios were involved in a separate armed robbery of a business located in the city of Morgan Hill approximately an hour prior that same evening.
Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both suspects and search warrants for their associated residences.
On April 22, 2026, Suspect Larios was located and apprehended by the Gilroy Police Department in the city of Gilroy. Custody of the suspect was subsequently transferred to San José Police Officers, who later booked Suspect Larios into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for robbery.
On May 5, 2026, with the assistance of the SJPD Covert Response Unit, Detectives located Suspect Sanchez-Gonzalez in the city of Gilroy, and booked him into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for robbery.
During the execution of the search warrants, SJPD Detectives located and seized large amounts of cash, a firearm with an extended magazine, and evidence of the crime.
